Blessings

Blessings
Have you heard the song Blessings written and performed by Laura Story? It is an amazing reminder that you are not promised "your best life now". Oh the contrary, we are to count it a joy when we face trials (James 1:2). But we, as Christians, can trust in God and His promises, even when it seems as if we are walking through the valley of despair. Sometimes here in America, we think we need to always be on the mountain tops of life, surrounded by rainbows and butterflies.

Laura wrote this song - and her story is amazing! In this clip she tells about what was the story behind the song, Blessings.

Sometimes our answer to prayer is what we need, not what we want. Sometimes God leaves us broken so that He can shine through us - and to keep us close to Him.

They lyrics to the song are below and here is a link to the song on youtube. Take a minute to focus on the words of this song. Then reminisce about the trials God has brought you through and the blessings He bestowed on you in the midst. Have you ever felt closer to God than when you needed Him the most? This world is far from perfect, and it will make heaven all the sweeter.

BLESSINGS by Laura Story
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe
When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the achings of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

I love to hear from my readers so if you are thinking something that is beneficial and profitable (which does not mean you have to agree with me, but at least be nice), then I would love to hear from you!
