There are times, however, when I must cry. I am unable to hold in the sadness that I feel. I know that it is a gift from God to be able to mourn and release those feelings of heart break. After a 'good cry', when I let out that final breath, it almost feels as if I am breathing in an extra dose of comfort from the Holy Spirit. I am declaring that I am unable to change the circumstances and need the Lord to intervene.
And I know He will.
I know God hears my prayers. I know that even if He does not answer them in the way that I think they should be answered, that He knows what is the perfect timing for the perfect outcome.
In the meantime, God gives me a sense of comfort and assurance. I read in His Scriptures that He works it all out for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes (Romans 8:28). What can be more comforting?!
Lately, my tears have been for the lost souls in my own family. There are people who, if they continue in the path they are on, will die in their sins and spend eternity apart from God. That breaks my heart! They are not only making foolish choices that impact this world, but it impacts eternity.
Do you cry for the lost? Do you cry for the wounded? Do you cry for the broken hearted?
My dear friend pointed out a particular scripture recently and I think it is a wonderful picture. It is Psalm 56:8. When you read it, picture Jesus next to you when you are crying, catching your tears in His bottle. You are precious to Him and He cares about you. WoW! I may need to start carrying around more Kleenex.
You number my wanderings;
Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book?
Are they not in Your book?
Psalm 56:8
