31 Days of Good News - Our Children

In order for our children to understand the gospel, they must first understand who God is and why there is a need for a Savior.

They need to understand God's attributes. They must understand that although we are made in God's image, He is not like us. He is so much greater!

Before you can teach them God's attributes, you should spend some time reviewing and studying them for yourself. Can you name some of them without looking at the list below (no cheating)?
Here is a list of some of God's attributes:

Eternal
Faithfulness
Foreknows
Good
Holy
Immutable
Impartial
Incomprehensible
Infinite
Jealous
Justice
Longsuffering
Love
Mercy
Omnipotent
Omnipresent
Omniscient
Righteous
Self-existent
Self-sufficient
Sovereign
Transcendent
Truth
Wise
Wrath

Did you know that God has so many different attributes or characteristics? How many did you name before you looked at the list?

Do you know what all these terms mean? If you would like to study more, you can click here for more detail.

A great resource for teaching your little ones is Leading Little Ones to God by Marian M. Schoolland. This book does a fantastic job laying out a picture of who God is, who we are, and why we need a Savior. My 6 year old and I are reading this before bedtime now and it has been wonderful!

I love to hear from my readers so if you are thinking something that is beneficial and profitable (which does not mean you have to agree with me, but at least be nice), then I would love to hear from you!
